THE ROBOTS ARE COMING

I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.

Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.

My thoughts are my own and are not representative of everyone who currently works, or has worked at Tesla.

Have you read the Asimov books?
Read all of them. He covers it.
Edit: Not the next 5 years, but the essence. You’ll get it.
2nd edit: sorry, nice work. You have the right angle.
Had a cocktail, and then you hit me with this one.

Wow Farzad, this is epic and will be nice to revisit this short clip in 10-15 years. Keep it up, I enjoy your videos and podcasts (wish there would be more of them..)

You didn't have the Terminator T800 crushing a skull at the end. Points taken 😆😉

Amazing production Farzad! You are one of the few Tesla bulls I have seen who really gets it or at least is talking about it

Very interesting Farzad. The question I ask myself about the robot revolution is will humanity be up for the challenge of being MORE HUMANE as HUMANS to each other when we do have more time on our hands? The advent of technology has been a mixed bag... mostly good but this is another level and we (IMHO) are not prepared, so I hope we will consider that part of the equation. What does it mean to have time and what is it to be human?

Awesome production Farzad! Though I have to say I was thinking to myself that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” well before you said it. I must also add that “idle time truly is the Devil’s workshop!”…

Yo Farzad, how much have you looked into Fresco's "Venus Project"? They offer a lot of perspective on automation.

I really liked how different this is from your other videos. Showed us your creative artistic side. You said at the start of the channel that your Tesla investment gave you the freedom to do as you wish without needing to chase money. Travel. Music. Family. Conversations. Your channel has leaned heavily into the conversations, and you're done more interviews than you probably thought you'd do, but you're finding what works and interests both you and your audience. This short video essay (seemingly composed of you reading your script over a montage of carefully selected stock video clips) adds a nice element of variety into your channel mix. I agree with those who say this will be nice to be able to look back on years later (probably moreso than a Q322 deliveries analysis video or whatever).

I’d be happy to start with an Optimus that initially could vacuum all my rooms, then summon my cars out to sweep & rinse the patio, car port, & garage. A welcomed freebie would be the ability to wash & dry the cars! Since those tasks aren’t enough to fill their days, I suppose comprehensive house cleaning/keeping would have to be defaults on a subsequent “planned” upgrade that took 6-12 months to fully matriculate, including wiping surfaces & loading/unloading/shelving dishwashers. How does $20k down & annually sound for prototypes, so long as the current version lasted (including free maintenance) for early adopters able to train bot AIs & feedback results to developers? Boxable & small condo owners would be good candidates, due due limited geometric challenges. Then 50% discounts to “successful” bot owner/trainers when trading up to subsequent hw versions?

Pet (limited demand) & elderly (self guided) care, with meal prep might be capabilities developed prior to general release. Maybe that could go for $50k down/annual including 30 hours of on site “tailoring” by bot trainers (a new job category!) with 40 hrs/yr of on demand local support.

The future is nigh upon us!

I trust tesla with this. That’s about it at this stage. And thank god they will be the ones to bring it to mass market production first
