Matt asks us to consider machines becoming cleverer than us; services more intuitive than us; robots more emphatic than us. It’s hard being a human in the future he suggests. But, there’s worse news – we are all training ourselves – one swipe at a time – to become limited versions of the machines we most fear. In this talk, rallies a call to arms suggesting how we can celebrate, nurture and enhance the special qualities we possess as humans, showing that if we do, there is nothing to worry about! Matt Jones is the author of two books and many research articles that have helped shape the field of Mobile HCI and UX (Mobile Interaction Design - with Gary Marsden; and There's Not an App for That - with Simon Robinson and Gary Marsden).

He has spoken at events with both an arts focus (such as the Hay Book Festival 2017) and the sciences (such as this the British Science Festival 2016 and Interact 2017). He has worked both with academic research groups and industrial partners across the world. His work combines a passion for invention with a commitment to working alongside non-traditional users of mobile technology.

The scary thing is actually that we can't have a sensible conversation with most humans, in this highly politicised world.

Our addiction on social network is obviously a problem, but that's a different problem than robots outsmart humans, which, in my opinion, it is impossible to happen. Believe in humans creating an intelligence beyound its own, right now, shows lack of understanding of what the human mind can do and even more of what computers can do. Obviously, the advance we have in technology it's outstanding, don't let its bright blind you...

This TED talk is fullfilled with opinions and books analogies of the same opinions.

The furniture industry has already suffered from the effects of IT, every aspect, from design through to finishing has suffered. Robotic equipment, controlled by CAD-CAM, have gradually replaced many craftsmen & women.

I program industrial robots, and I can tell you... despite some great efforts, we are not even close to being able to do things as good as human, with exception of the most mundane (and often straining) tasks
