Car Crash Leaves Family Facing Oncoming Traffic | Our Life

34 year-old Darius, his partner 39 year-old Rebecca and their two young children are on their way to a family holiday in Devon when they find themselves in a major accident on the M5. Their car suffers a tyre blowout and, fishtailing along the carriageway, it careers out of control and ploughs into the central reservation. With the rear of the car sticking out into the fast lane, and with their two young children strapped in the back, they are convinced that the oncoming traffic is going to plough into them at any moment. Rebecca is terrified and decides she has to get out. She grabs her baby, Jasmine, in her car seat and makes a dash for it, but she stumbles and the car seat with the baby in it falls into the road ahead of her. 26 year-old Martin and his wife, Claire, are behind the family on the motorway and witness the accident. They pull over into the hard shoulder and beyond the speeding cars, Martin spots Rebecca on the far side of the carriageway and he knows he needs to act quickly. With debris scattered everywhere, and amidst the constant barrage of vehicles, Martin waits for his moment then makes a run for it. Once he reaches the family, he faces the dilemma of whether to wait with them until help comes, or to take control and risk his own life to make a dash for safety across the road in between the speeding cars.
