The elevators at an old, imponent and famous 22-story building, with a very interesting and also unfortunate backstory...
This is a big tower in downtown, built in the early 1970s, originally opened as a hotel, that in the late 1990s was heavily modified to be turned into an office building. Just by looking, there's few evidence that this was once a hotel.
Three elevators here, all side-by-side in the same hall, two interconnected passenger ones (which I couldn't film) and the service one in this video. As with many of these buildings which have the service being regular passenger elevators in the same lobby, it's inevitably used by passengers too.

Originally the elevators were all SÛR, then entirely replaced by Sûr or ThyssenSûr with their SkyLine cabs around 1999, judging by it, probably using a conventional slap-on COP instead of the traditional 45º panel in the corner that was a staple of their designs at the time.
The only original Sûr parts remaining being the external triangle lanterns (that look somewhat derived from Fujitec) and the steel board containing the 7-segment indicator where the old analog indicator was.

Some time in the early 2010s, they were once again "modded" by Advance, a generic local company. The passenger cars received a different mod from the service, as they have different call stations, possibly shortly before the service (from what I could see, my guess is that they use that same "knockoff OTIS" fixtures that are so popular among small companies).
This new mod was crap. The cab is all original, they just put their skinny COP where the old one was, replaced the door operator and panels, threw in new controls and motor; on the ceiling plastered a steel sheet with simple LED lights where the old light used to be, and installed the new call stations with indicators, leaving the old ST-99 external displays just... dead up there over where the analog Sûr one used to be. A sad sight.
Why they did this mod... I don't know, maybe someone told management thought it would "improve" them, or the ThyssenKrupps weren't doing well, just because somebody thought it was needing to become "muhdern" and all. Fact is, they would probably be doing much better without this last mod.

The inside doesn't look too nice, but what is a service elevator with no dented and scratched walls. At least one thing they did well on this mod: lighting. These Sûr/TK cabs had a terrible design for the light fixtures, and despite looking all bodged, the LEDs here do a much better job.
The COP uses ELX's 500 buttons, which are interesting in design (kinda going for what the NeoLift's buttons were) and do feel solid here. No door close button for whatever reason.
Can't deny that I at least like the little animations with the arrows and numbers on the indicators.
Notice an uncommon practice around my area, to have a "dead zone" from the ground until some floor. I don't know what there is between T and 8, seems to be the separate commercial floors that are now occupied by a small college on the street and accessed from there. Don't know if that is original or was reworked in the remodeling.

Performance is balanced: On the good side, it runs properly, has an acceptable speed, and starts and stops are smooth. On the other side, a lot of shaking (both horizontal and vertical) when traveling, lots of noises from the car moving (in the shaft, only the compensator chain), the doors are quite crappy, and loose, feel weak, all worsened by the door operator that isn't handling them well. You can hear them wobbling around as the car is moving. The only balanced thing here are these pros and cons.
Currently, maintenance is being done by another equally generic company, they seem to have changed to this one not so long ago...

Can't say much about the other two main cars... hopefully doing better, because the ride quality doesn't appear to.
But always fun to get into something above 15 floors! That's still fun.

Rating: 6/10 - While a nice mid-rise find with some interesting things around, the bad mod and what comes with it just ruins everything. I'd say it has pros and cons on the performance, it isn't necessarily bad, but also not any good. Would be doing better as ThyssenSûr today (especially as I'm yet to find one in the city and would be very cool to see one going up this amount of floors).
