Fast ThyssenKrupp Frequencedyne Freight Traction Elevator - Big Box Supermarket - MG, BR

A big and surprisingly fast and efficient ThyssenKrupp freight elevator in the entrance of a big box supermarket, which is conjoined to a small shopping mall.

This elevator is intended primarily for customers of the supermarket with shopping carts, but also widely used by people who use this entrance to access the mall on the other side, earning it the "Frassenger" classification as some call. Right to the side of it there's a staircase coming from the street up to the entrance of the store. The lower level E1 is actually the real ground level here, the entire structure of the supermarket and the mall was built above ground making way for the parking lot below, hence why the lower level has such a low clearance.
One minor detail here is that "1" on the E1 level, but there's no other floors below, it would make sense if there was an E2, E3, so on below... but I've seen this same numbering in many other places, it's not uncommon.

The interior design is just a simple and default cab from the Griffe Sky lineup, the fixtures are Top Line, which were becoming the new flasghip for ThyssenKrupp around the time that this was installed. Note that the indicator/speaker portion of the COP is still the old "modular" one with the inclined display and big capacity plate, from the older MicroMove fixtures. It was a choice to be used with TopLine around that time, before TK completely phased it out. The floor passing beep is present here, I've seen it turned on in other TKs from this same branch of supermarkets.
This elevator is mostly good condition for the kind of enviroment it's in, doesn't look sketchy or uncared for, and no vandalism to be seen. No damaged fixtures (except for that ripped plate below the indicator), everything on them is working properly and nicely. It's only worn and with many signs of usage over the years in the interior, such as the walls with dents and big scratches from the lines of carts they fit here, cracked floor tiles near the doors and the bent air grilles on the bottom of the COP. Given the high usage that this gets, and being a freight elevator for both passengers and staff in a big store, those listed damages are minor and can be overlooked, especially as it's natural and expected here. But it's a good job, they're doing well on keeping this elevator in a fairly decent and presentable condition.
My complaint would be the lighting, it's not good, the fluorescent tube used isn't as powerful as it has to be here. That is also primarily due to that horrible design that Sûr (this design was made before Thyssen acquired them) came up for these cabs back in the late 90s, the lights are pointed to the back and the area below that panel in the front is left in a shadow. In larger elevators like this, and without a mirror in the back wall to reflect the light, the effect is even worse.

Performance of this is great, it's running nicely, with no delays and issues, ride feels very nice. It starts and stops without any jolts, and the trip between the two stops is smooth, you barely feel it moving on the inside (even though that's common with these large elevators). The leveling from this VF motor is exceptional, it's so quick that it barely feels like it takes any time doing so, takes about less than a couple seconds from slowing down to opening the doors. Combine that with the ride between floors being very quick as the height traveled is very small. In total, a trip in this elevator is around less than 20 seconds from entering to exiting it. Really good for a supermarket freight. Doors are very fast and steady when moving, the operators that TK used in these 4-speed freighters are very good. They have done good here, and their maintenance (now TKE) is also worthy of compliments.

Rating: 9/10 - This elevator is in a relatively good condition for it's enviroment, runs perfectly and is very efficient. Nothing too special other than being a massive freight, but the performance quality here is great. Only the bad lighting inside the cab is an issue, but beyond that, a very decent supermarket freighter holding up well to it's high usage by shoppers and the staff.
