SWTOR Galactic Seasons Guide – Season 3!

Galactic Seasons in Star Wars: The Old Republic, similar to a ‘battle pass’ in other games, allows you to complete daily objectives to earn rewards over the course of five months. Galactic Seasons is available to both free-to-play players and subscribers at no additional cost, with subscribers having an additional reward track to gain cosmetic rewards from. In addition, you will gain tokens which you can spend at a vendor to buy previously-retired items and access to a new stronghold.

The main question I had and why I watched this vid was answered in the first few minutes. When I played the last two seasons I was subscribed the entire time, but this time I rather just plug along unsubbed until I'm at least over half way through the tract then sub up and collect all the rewards... so it was good to know you can get the subscriber rewards retroactively. It is really important this season because the companion character is much more important to have than in the previous seasons when it comes to the weekly objectives.

While it does suck that the cartel coin rewards were reduced my only real complaint about the reward changes for this season are the tech fragments. I've already got the maximum amount on both the servers I'm on and I still don't see any real use for them for how I play the game, so having them as one of the stand ins for the reduced cc feels like a wasted reward.

As an update, they've patched the Gambler objective (Oct 27, 2022), which should make the respawns faster, as well as cutting the number you needed in half. These were huge complaints in game (and, I'd imagine, on the forums), and it was great to see they addressed it swiftly and made those changes.

As for the season itself... I'm really bummed by the change they made to the companion - in Season 2, all characters were able to nab the companion (via story mission) and contribute to the rep gains, but the way they handled it this season really bummed me out. 160 CC to share for the account, when previously it was free? Really off-putting.

(Oh, and thank you for the knowledge about the mounts - I'd seen them, but didn't realize they weren't reward-track mounts.)

Sadly due to mental illness I ended up abandoning season 2 about half way though (I did get to about 70something before I stopped) hopefully I’ll feel better this season also I believe SWTOR runs on the steamdeck so that may help for the times I don’t feel able to sit at my desk.

Part of me wonders if the Season was supposed to pair with the Nightlife event (which started later and fairly recently finished) given the theme of the season.

Beast mounts improved each season. I do think the vehicle mounts a step back from last season but better than season 1 (I really hated the season 1 beast/vehicle mounts).

I mainly run for the companions. Loved the companions for each season and the little bits of story given to them.

Didn’t comment at the time but I always thought they added a bit of story to the Season 1 companion with the Season 2 companion since that companion didn’t originally have any story like the latest 2. Does the season 3 companion have any companion specific dialogues with other companions, I haven’t come across any?

I really wish I'd seen this guide on how to scan for cheaters in the Star Cluster Casino before abandoning the quest. Don't suppose there's a way of re-instating this quest?
