The U.S. and Canadian Coast Guards are scanning the ocean in search of the missing Titanic tourist submarine. The five men on board were identified as British billionaire Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood, his teen son Sulaiman Dawood, Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet and founder of OceanGate Stockton Rush. They are sealed in the 21-foot metal tube with no food and nothing to drink. Inside Edition's Ann Mercogliano has more.

Imagine you came to see a shipwreck and you end up being one.

If they find these people it’ll be one of the greatest rescues ever

I get claustrophobic just thinking about this. Sounds absolutely horrific.

They each paid $250k to see the Titanic. You couldn’t pay me $250k to see it.

This is honestly freaking me out
And I’m not even on the submarine

Imagine having so much money that you subconsciously believe you're immortal, because if anything goes wrong, you have enough money to make sure you will have an international rescue mission and, you will certainly come out of it alive. What an avoidable tragedy.

They literally constructed a submersible coffin that was unknowingly on its way to a watery grave. They were ill equipped to take on such a dangerous expedition. Personally I feel as if the remains of the Titanic should be left well alone. So RIP to the people who will now join those who rest at the bottom of the ocean. They really were able to participate in the true Titanic experience.

One of the experts said even if it’s found at the floor of the sea they can’t retrieve it.

Just watching this I got so claustrophobic. I really hope they find these people I couldn’t imagine how hopeless and scared I would feel just waiting to run out of air like that.

100+ years onwards and Titanic is still teaching us valuable lessons on privilege and class society.

This is why fear exists. Look at how cramped that is. Man wasn’t meant to go down there. I pray God either let’s them be found or give them the strength to face their last days alive.

I couldn’t imagine being stuck in the wreck of the Titanic. Absolutely terrifying.

This is a make shift submersible. There's no doubt about it. It's piloted with a video game WIRELESS controller and uses carbon fiber as part of it's hull structure. My guess is the carbon fiber slowly deteriorated after many missions with this thing dealing with extreme water pressures levels. A small crack in the fiber grew into a bigger crack, and then a bigger one, until one day, they send a team down in that thing and the carbon fiber hull finally gives out and they don't come back. They lost communication 9, 500 feet into their 12, 500 feet decent and were no longer sending out “pings” because that was likely the moment the hull structure failed and they passed. It was inevitably going to happen to one of these "expeditions" with this company. That's also why they didn't deploy any of the "Several emergency measures" to get them back to the surface. You can't deploy those measures if you submersible is already crushed like a can and the people inside have been turned to dust before they even realized what just happened to them.

When it was bolted shut, nobody realized it was a 5 person coffin...

The sub was made right up the street from me. Also I would never go into a tube like that. That they thing was poorly made.

Unfortunately it was a devastating decompression probably before they even reached the wreckage. Any debris will fall to the floor, unrecoverable. They knew the risks.

I'd never get inside something that's locked and bolted shut from the outside. That's terrifying in itself.
