John didn't realize he was the next monster Dutch was referring to.

His death made me real sad, seeing this man go from a charismatic leader to a crazy murderer is so heartbreaking and at the end even he lost faith in himself and jumped off thaf cliff

I remember in 1899 some one else told you this Dutch. Our time has past.

"my whole life, all I ever did was fight" is actually true, but really sad, since dutch never actually wanted to kind of turn into what he became, i always felt like dutch was special but soon later, he was thinking too much about himself what made him selfish, he started to only take care of himself and thinking that everyone is going to abandon him, but arthur and john never did other then later realizing what he really became, he just decided to switch up thru the entire micah talking, making him insecure about himself and arthur & John, he has such great writing.

Dutch lost his mind a long time ago but the words he spoke are truer than ever

The fact that they foreshadowed the 'I have a plan' line and made it connect so well with a game 8 years after it released is just masterful storytelling

I’m rdr2 Dutch has a outfit for each chapter and biomes, and in rdr1, he has only 1 outfit that looks John’s pyjama

When dutch says, “We can’t fight gravity”, i’m pretty sure that’s a callback to a mission in RDR2 where you are running from the army. Dutch says that line and him and arthur jump in the river below them.

He jumped. He didn't want to make his son shot him. His love for Arthur and John was always there deep down in his heart.

RDR1: Our time has passed, John
RDR2: Is this tram going to Tahiti?
RDR3 ...?

Their conversation is so simple and down to earth, but at the same time it is so deep and realistic. That's why I love this game. There are no heroes, princesses, super villains. In this game, everyone is "people", that's all.

It's this moment, when Dutch says he has a plan and it's a good one, and ends up falling off a cliff, that says that every single one of Dutch's plans throughout his life with the gang has been a failure...

Dutch and Arthur's deaths were the saddest ones

I was replaying Rd2 and noticed a real specific line, right after the gunfight in valentine with Cornwall, Charles and Arthur are riding out, and Charles asks why they don’t just fine a cave to hide in, Arthur says cause Dutch thinks it’ll mean their just dirty outlaws. And man, seeing Dutch just be a what he didn’t wanna be. Just fucking, fucking hurts dude.

In the end, it wasn’t Micah who doomed the gang, or Milton, or Ross,
*It was dutch*

Dutch Vander Linde lived like an Outlaw and died as an Outlaw and thats how he will forever be remembered. Arthur on the other hand lived as an Outlaw but at the end he died as a good man and found redemption
