Although I agree with everything Arun (from Mrwhosetheboss) said on Apple's Air Tags, this video presents my alternative view on the matter.

Air Tags can be lifesavers and offer peace of mind for parents like me, although they weren't designed to track your kids.

The whole issue depends on how you look at it, and I believe Apple can't be held accountable for providing the best product. Much like anything else, it depends on how you use the product.

Correction: Slip it "into" your pocket. I hope that expression slipped in without being noticed!

We did this when we went to Disney World last month. I was able to lace the airtag inside my son's shoe tongue. With the park being so big and crowded it was a peace of mind decision.

We all need this for even the kids at 18…I’m a traditional parent and will always have my kids on my radar 24/7.. Does not matter if they dont have privacy … I don’t want may kids end up doing drugs since we are here in America and so many drug problems here.. So even if my son is 25 i will track im down… All parents should watch kids so they will not end up like most to end up on drugs …..

I will buy one for my daughter. I'll modify her cloths to contain a small pocket with tiny zipper so I can hide it in it. This is the most important device for parents imo.

I use them with an special wristband to keep track of my twins. As you said, as long as they stay in one place, this device works pretty well to let me know where they are.

The only problem I’ve been having is when they’re on the move (specially in a car). One day when my wife took them to school, I tried tracking them along the way (my wife also has an iPhone, so I thought that the tracking would go smoothly since she was with them) but the device didn’t update until they reached their destination… so for actual live tracking is not so good, but hey! It’s better than don’t having anything to check on your kids.

I’m about to get some GPS trackers for them and use the AirTags for any other item I don’t want to lose.

They make wristbands for the kids aswell 👌🏽 as a 90’s kid this would be insane back then but now it’s a scary world I feel like psychos are everywhere so peace of mind is wonderful 🙏🏽

I tried tracking my son when he went on a school trip. But it didn’t work. The app doesn’t update. Even when he reached his destination - I thought it would update as he wasn’t on the bus. It still didn’t work. I don’t know if apple has changed things - since this video was released. But I only see the AirTag worthwhile - if you’ve lost your keys around the house. The sound feature works quite well.

I guess this is better than nothing for sure. But just today, my 6 year old son decided to walk home with his friends instead of get on the bus. My wife was really scared when he didn’t get off the bus. I don’t know if an AirTag would have worked at all because his 6 year old friends don’t have phones.

I just wish AirTags could be full GPS. I guess technology just isn’t there yet.

Thanks! I’ve been looking for something to track my autistic daughter. I do have the Apple tag on my keychain and now I might another one to put in her bag. What about using it as a necklace? I would put it in pocket but A lot of times her pants has no pockets.
