My favourite (underrated) cleaning hack is cleaning/organising my room before I travel. Coming back to that welcoming space is bliss.

In a nutshell -
1) 20 minute daily cleaning - morning and night 10 mins each
2) Scheduling deep clean on weekly/monthly basis
3) Clean the fridge everytime you do grocery shopping
4) Clean as you cook
5) Fold the Konmari way (its a specific folding method precribed by famous japanese author Marie Kondo)
6) Make a home for every item!
7) Create a declutter bag
8) Scan important items

Hey! But pls do watch the whole video. ❤️ It's a treat for the soul, like always. So aesthetically and spiritually pleasing if that makes sense?
Amazing work like always, Sophie! ❤️

I used to make my bed as soon as I woke up as well, but then i learned that, actually, it is very important to let your bed "breathe" every single morning at least 30 minutes after you wake up: in this way, your bedsheets will have time to 'breathe' and let go of all the trapped air from the night before. I felt like giving you this advice since i find it very helpful for my personal higene.

Sophie your channel is so full of peace! I found minimalism late in 2020 and my hubs & I purged 20 years of married collection from our home. I live in the cold midwest so these videos are full of warmth and inspiration. Thanks!

I think since I pursued minimal lifestyle, cleaning and organizing a home, I noticed I have greater peace in my mind, fewer distractions and my focus is much higher.

"If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way." - small things become great things.
"Either you run the day or the day runs you." - it is both. Sometimes, you will find the moment when 'this' time is manageable, and often, you will find the moment catching you..

I live in Sri Lanka. Our country lacks knowledge and inclination in this regard. I would love to simply live the way you have so far. But I do not get any support from my wife for this. But I am committed to it to the best of my ability. It's nice to see the experience of people like you. Thank you so much

Sophie, you truly are a gem. Didn't realize it, but I've been doing 5 of the things you mentioned for years lol. (Great minds think alike). The other three were super great tips. For cleaning, I never leave dishes lying around, all goes to the kitchen, (even if I, on rare occasions don't do the dishes). I'm not a busy body when people visit, but at the end of the evening, , it's nothing to cart dirty mugs to the kitchen sink! The idea of waking up to dirty cups in the living room etc creeps me out. Blessings <3

It's so crazy how small changes leave big impacts. I started making my bed every morning and it really uplifts my mood for the entire day.

Over 2 months ago since you posted this video, I know. As all your minimalism videos, I LOVE it. We carry so much weight on our shoulders! Make time to fly light, lol.

This is one of the best videos I've seen on this subject. I can actually envision doing these things and can see how effective they'd be. Thank you. Simple is relaxing and relaxing is key to good health and a positive state of mind. I'm looking forward to finally tackling the area of my life concerning belongings and organization. I love your channel. Thank you.

GREAT video!!

While I make our bed every morning, I open the window (even in winter) and pull the top sheet and blanket back and allow the room and bed to air out as I take a quick shower. This removes any odors from sweat as we slept. Then I make the bed.

As minimalists we are also zero waste so we avoid buying packaged foods as much as possible. And we do NOT buy soda and other 'food' items that lack nutrition and value because it's a waste of $$$.

And yes, we take care of what we have so we don't need to replace items. We also avoid fads and adhere to the 'a place for everything and everything in it's place'. Which saves a LOT of $$$$ because one isn't buying things they already have.

Cleaning as we cook is so important. We also do the dishes as soon as we are done eating. Something Bea (Bay ya) Johnson of the Zero Waste Home also stresses.

"We all deserve to live in a clean and welcoming environment." Great video! I love practicing minimalism. My landlord just told us he's selling our house, so we have to move. Minimalism makes the moving process much easier, too. Looking forward to continuing minimalist practices in my new home
