Gentleman, your closing thoughts on being present, mindful, and ridding yourself of self-expectations, is very sage advice. Some of my best musical musical moments have come when I approach it with no expectations. It's often a very hard thing to do though, but the rewards can be amazing.

Everything makes a difference in an amp; certainly true, but whether it's a positive or negative difference is where the subjectivity comes into play!

If i remember right, I think the gold foil guitar that you are referring to @Dan was a Ronin. Dan Phelps used them a lot before too! They looked really cool and always sounded great.

ernie ball's anniversary volume pedal is supposed to handle both high and low impedance.

Standard tuning is sometimes referred to as spanish tuning I believe.
