The more I watch VCQ the more I appreciate “Moments of Mindfulness with Mick”.
Definitely because I can always appreciate a reminder to be in the moment with anything I’m doing.
D&M, you’re both the best and I appreciate both of you ❤❤❤

I bought a nice clunky old rider mower, put tunes in, and mow my lawn, the neighborhood trails, and the old ladies lawns in our rural neighborhood. It turns it from a minor inconvenience into an all-afternoon epic that I think of as a sort of mental holiday. Pop the headphones in, cue up some shows or tunes, & know I’ve got a 5 hour break from reality to go cruise around in this little go-kart making neat patterns in the pretty green grass & sunshine. It’s blissful compared to dealing with real problems. Also, put a cooler out, bc if you have never piloted a rider mower around in circles in your yard with a beer in one hand & no regard for time or productivity or efficiency, you have not lived.

Mick, doing things like moving the lawn builds anticipation for the time you finally get the guitar into your hands. It makes you appreciate the time spent with the guitar all the more special.

I always dig the Stratocaster commentary. I’m torn between later ‘60s pups and early ‘60s pups. Which is why I need a second Strat. ❤

As a Buddhist student of the late Thich Nhat Hahn, I believe all the ingredients for your happiness are already present. But I think adding another positive ingredient on the way to realizing that certainly can't hurt.

Happy mowing. And all else.

And as a former landscaper, there is nothing better than cutting diamonds into a large lawn and feeling like you work at Fenway Park. (Red Sox, Baseball, Boston)

Mick - I had an epiphany over the Englishman’s relationship with lawns when I realised how thirsty mine was, and how when it rained I was delighted....( previous to owning a lawn I owned a motorcycle so was unused to the feeling)👍😀

I have stupid LED light panels on the wall in my music room. I can say “commence jam sequence “ and the lights go into a predetermined setting that flashes pretty colors. Totally not necessary but fun as hell.

A Danish Pete signature D&M drive would be an absolute riot!😅

I know what you mean about gardening, Mick. I'm 58 this year and for 55 years at least I've never had the slightest interest in it. Yet, now... in the last couple of years, as a creative and expressive outlet... I'm beginning to embrace it.

I’ve heard it said that dads can think of mowing up to 10 lawns at the same time. Totally here for that lawn mowing show

The specs on Jeff’s Strat are nothing like the favorite models discussed here. Early ‘90’s Lace Sensor Strat plus w/ lsr roller nut is best ever.

Dan, you clearly have a soft spot for Mondo Rock's 'Come Said The Boy' - I've heard its solo pop up in other episodes as it did in the closing minutes of this one.

Variance allows for choice but, metrics are very beneficial - assuming they are sufficient for broad parameter analysis and low biasing of "opinion" is applied. Commitment to relating effect to cause is essential!

You gotta use whatever inspires you to cut the grass. I think that's a great idea Mick, I used to find mowing therapeutic, I'd just allow my mind to wander, great thing to do.

Sorry I wasn't on the live stream when you answered my question. Thank you both for the information!

Corey Congilio Silver Sky SE demo for blues tones on YouTube is criminally underrated if you’re looking into purchasing one.

I was gifted one for my Birthday, I spent 200 to get a bone nut fabricated and installed, included a good set up (to my playing needs), rounded off the edges of the neck to smooth out how squared it came, frets polished, fretboard conditioned. And when I got it back, plays like a dream, although technically I only spent 200 for it.

I hope this helps that chap who’s considering the purchase. Mick said it best, depends on your budget.

I’m about to turn 60, next month and wouldn’t you know it, I have recently found myself getting lost in grass cutting. Didn’t see that one coming. Some friends bought a new mower and ‘gave’ us their 20hp v twin tractor mower. Deep joy. Anyway, with you all the way. However, as a guitar player I am quietly aware of the perils whirring about beneath!! Enjoy, but exercise extreme caution.

Mick saying "Go and have a chat with a goat, honestly" might be my favourite moment in time ever.
