The name "Rottweiler" comes from the original breed which was founded in a town in Germany called "Rottweil" so therefore that has to be where the original bloodline springs from.

I like how no one mentions how rottweilers have two dots for

I owned a rottweiler with a red coat, her tail was long. Her name was Nita, she passed after 13 years a week ago. They are great dogs but take a special touch. Also, she was the only puppy out of the litter to have the red coat. She was truly a blessing to have raised

The german rottweiler all day long . Best blood lines and breed standard, working and show. Thats why most proper breeders world wide import rotts from germany / EU! Facts!!

Nonsense, a rot is a rot.. There is nothing like a tailed rottweiler as in a type of rottweiler. It's just a normal rottweiler whose tailed wasn't docked. Any other rottweiler is not a standard one.

I love Rotties. I have a lovely girl. Loves her cuddles and she's adorable. I wish the media would stop giving them a bad name.

I had a Long Haired Rottweiler Service Dog Damian. He was extremely intelligent and loving. I lost him to bone cancer at 9years of age. My family will miss him forever.

Thank you for pointing out bigger size means less health. This is important, and many people don't know it I think and just believe a bigger dog is cooler. I do not agree that tailed Rottweiler is an extra type, i mean, the tailed and docked are born the same... just differ in what human does to them. One of the red Rottweilers in your video at 4:25 is a Dogue de Bordeaux I believe. Can be recognized by the broader, more wrinkled muzzle and, well, the typical red colour...

I have had a variety of dogs throughout my life..from Spaniels to Huskies to Mastiffs. I rescued my first Rottie back in 97. She had an abusive first 6 months of life. Of all my dogs, the Rottie, by far, was the best dog I ever had. No doubt.

My mother had a red rottweiler. She was german and american rottweiler. Both parents were akc registered but 2 female puppies came out red with light black patches where the brown patches on a normal rottie would be. She was an awesome dog. Lived to be about 15 before her hip displasia got too bad 😔

As someone who has rescued 4 of these magnificent creatures - of variable shapes and sizes - that was a truly enlightening video. THANK YOU. Conn was definitely American, Rocco was German, Rocky was Roman and Luna is rare breed - quite petite with webbed feet. Well now I know. Peace and love from Ireland 🇮🇪 🐾🐾

I love Rotties we had rescue when I was a kid she was older and was on her last stages of life and she was just the sweetest dog. Currently have a Rott-Lab mix and he is Mama's boy. Obviously no papers because he is a mix.

I think my dog is a Rottweiler mix but I wish I could find out what she’s mixed with. She’s got the coloring in all the areas it should be but she’s on the smaller side, slim, and her face is small.

I probably wasn't the best kid to have around any breed of dog but my mom's rottie was like a secondary dad to me, especially through her divorce with my actual dad. He would sit in the front passenger seat and would guard the car and us when she went shopping. (This is back in the day when kids got eft in cars. Nobody bothered us with our boy looking out for us and we didn't overheat)
He didn't let me swim. He'd pull me by my bathers out of the beach water, but not my sister who was a few years older than me. He also bit another dog who growled at me. I was around 5 when we got him and 10 and he had to be put down from severe arthritis in the end.
Then there was the one we got when I was in highschool. Again super sweet, gentle, smart. We have a picture of him chilling with me on a couch. His head was bigger than mine. Easily a much more powerful dog than we could handle but he was a good boy. Put down due to bone cancer.
Now I have a friend who owns a rottie cross mastiff and let me tell you... He's just the biggest, sweetest softie. Too much of a sweetie for his own good. He always reminds me of our boys but not as protective, more just- if there's someone's he doesn't know approaching hell bark to alert them but never attack.hed rather make friends with anyone with a heartbeat and he remembers everyone he's already friends with.
