A spinal bone spurs, or osteophytes typically forms in response to pressure, rubbing, or stress that continues over a long period of time.
They are growths of extra bone on our vertebrae which form as the body tries to repair itself by building extra bone.
Most bone spurs cause no signs or symptoms.
Sometimes Back pain or neck pain occur as the facet joints are inflamed and the neck and back muscles become irritated.
Spinal bone spurs can pinch the spinal cord or its nerve roots and can cause weakness or numbness in your arms or legs.

I’m 45, went to my old dr with a back injury at work, he found mild bulging disk and terrible doctor left it at that even when I complained I lost bladder control.
That was 9 years ago. I finally got an MRI and it says this is what I have, but with spinal stenosis so all the drs I’ve seen have failed me telling me I shouldn’t be in pain. Sheesh I’m mad.
Drs should have more education regarding these things. I’ve been traumatized by years of medical problems and terrible chronic pain when this could’ve answered everything instead of telling me it’s all in my head.

I was just diagnosed with bone spurs in my middle back after 13 years of waiting. The pain is unbearable and no medicine that was prescribed to me worked. Not even CBD oil. Constant rubbing of my spinal cord due to a bone spur. No one should have to go through this.

I have bone spurs in the cervical region. Lower neck. Pinched nerves cause extreme tingling, numbness, and pain down my arms, leading into my fingertips. Very awful. Agonizing discomfort everyday.

Just went to the rumatlogist for what I thought was psoriatic arthritis for her to say she wants an x-ray but chalked it up to fibromyalgia I know it's not that. Got my x-rays back and decoded them myself to find that I have bone spurs all down my spine my neck and pinched nerves. Dr. Kill me I have been going since 2010 speaking of this pain and my PCP told me I was too young to be experiencing this pain and shooed me out the door. He thinks I was drug seeking. Go to the rumatlogist in 2017 they say I have psoriatic arthritis but there is no def way to determine if I have it and shooed me out the door. I go back now in 2023 and she says I have fibromyalgia and shooed me out the door but my xray says different. Dr are full of shit when it comes to patients with pain all because they are afraid to prescribe something so they shoo you out the door
