Using the Original iPod Classic in 2023

Today we have a chance to look at a devices that is over 20 years old, the original iPod Classic!

I like the mechanical hdd - I have a 7th gen classic that still works. I like feeling the hard drive spinning as you use it. Unfortunately most of the hard drives are failing - luckily you can switch it out with an SSD.

Still using my 2G iPod, surprisingly still recognised as such by MacOS Monterey on my Mac Studio. How did you get the calendar items to sync?

How does an old iPod compared to a record player? A record player you can put on anytime you want to sit down and listen to an entire album. What do you do with the classic iPod if it doesn’t have good batteries? And you can also just use your phone and put it in airplane mode so you won’t be bothered by any texts and then just enjoy music. So what’s the point of an old iPod? Other than using it if you’ve had it all these years.
