Only bad thing is there is a practical limit to how many songs the iPod OS will deal with. I had a 256 GB version with the flash conversion, and around 30k songs bad things started to happen. You can still make playlists and such, but if you try to do a shuffle on the entire library for example it just chokes.

I have the iPod Classic and it is better then Apple Music subscription paying each month and especially everything is subscription based economy and I added more music and kept the original parts inside as the battery and hard drive is still going strong.
