i will try to summarize this podcast here, hope this helps.

- it starts with a very basic idea of the truth about life, that is self-improvement. normally, we try to go ahead with the "how to" or say prescription of doing something (eg. how to lose weight, how to play football, etc).
- The prescription methodology works well, to begin with, and maybe for all the mechanical jobs but eventually, it's about how much obsessed you are about getting there, about your goal.
- In situations where you want to achieve excellence, you will find your way to do things rather than following a well-prescribed path by someone else.
- Greatness is non-linear, jump into the situation/problem and be obsessed about solving it and you will find some messy way to get out of it.

then the discussion moves towards the first question, which is "What does freedom mean to you?"

Key takeaways of that:
- Freedom is freedom from the mind
- Normally, freedom means getting away from all the physical constraints but the mind creates everything that confines you and eventually, we need to achieve freedom from the mind
- a desire for freedom is not freedom as once that desire is not fulfilled, you will suffer from anxiety of not achieving the freedom :) (the vicious cycles that we all face)
- most of us actually think that circumstances and people around us create anxiety, depression, stress, difficult situations, etc but in reality, it is in our mind
- beyond certain basic needs/levels, all the problems can be solved within your mind
- Eventually, everyone is looking for freedom and freedom depends on what questions you ask to yourself. if the question is "how to get peace for 20 mints?" then go for Yoga and you will get it but if the question is "how to achieve peace of mind for life?" then you have to build that in your mind, it may take years, may be a lifetime to achieve that but if your goal is clear, you will eventually get there. you just have to create your own path and keep working on that

answer/one take away - freedom is freedom from the mind, find your own path to achieve that

then the discussion moves towards solving problems of life

the key takeaways of that are as follows:

- find the source of the problem to find the solution
- eg, if the question is how to get out of anxiety? then try to understand from where it anxiety is arising. the solution is to deep dive into the problem and not look for solutions as when you don't find the solution to your anxiety you will get more anxiety
- life is a single-player game, you go through everything alone
- all conflicts in life are self-conflicts and circumstances reveal who you really are

The next key topic was journeys and destinations

the key takeaways are as follows:
- the whole game is setup by society about the journey and not destinations
- actually its about destination, when you know what destination you want to reach, you will set your directions and efforts in the right path
- you become the one with what you are most exposed to (in today's context, you become what content you consume)

some other key pointers at the end:
- any supression is regression
- its all about where you want to go
- freedom comes from the understanding from the things come from
- looking for progress means looking for pleasure
- everything in life is motivated by the pleasures
- when you don't get the progression in life, you lose on pleasure and you lose on motivation
- hence its better to not look for pleasure based motivational system and build a separate path based on your destination, focus on destination

Thank you for reading. :)

Holy shit Kapil. I don't know how the fuck I got here but I'm so happy I did even though your message is literally no message. Your message is highlighting to me that I am searching for something, holding up a mirror. Cheers
