'Assassination Attempt' On Russian Official As Wagner Blames France Amid Growing Clout In Africa

A Wagner Group-linked Russian representative in Central African Republic (CAR) was injured after opening a mail bomb. Dmitry Syty, the head of the "Russian House" culture centre, was rushed to a hospital in CAR capital Bangui after being seriously injured. The chief of the Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, accused France of an assassination attempt on Syty. Another African nation, Burkina Faso, has allegedly sought help form the Wagner Group to control insurgency in the country. Is CAR “assassination attempt” a message to the Wagner group head? After Ukraine, will Wagner Group now enter the Ghana-burkina conflict?

This is the first war I've witnessed where the invader is deeply offended by their enemy fighting back. Every other war I have read about, or wtinessed saw opponents accepting that each is fighting a batlle for their own country and their own ideals, but they're going to make you die for yours. Russians don't see it that way. They feel entitled to whatever they see as vaguely Russian influenced, and fighting them is seen as fighting all that is good and holy. It's a cult society resembling North Korea. They see the world is against them as they go out of our way to make themselves even smaller. When you make yourself small, everything seems external. Self-fulfilled prophecy.
