In addition to being exposed to the toxic fumes from the burn pits, sand storms. I spent countless days amongst the soot and low cloud moisture filled atmosphere while maneuvering on foot as light infantry searching bunkers for enemy supplies and intelligence information. In order to exploit the battlefield success my unit traveled on the back of 5 Ton trucks with no overhead cover. The only protective equipment we were able to use or find was the canvas material that we cut to fashion into a scarf bab

I had my pft via civilian and VA. Both were horrible results. I have severe copd (non smoker, never a smoker) only issues, that crap from the gulfwars exposure. Had a VA GW exam and it stated it

I love your videos. I have learned so much. I have asthma and use montelukast na 10 MG. Is this drug considered an oral bronchodialator?

Can they cherry pick the best number from the PFT? I have a FEV-1 pre of 59% and post 63% and take a daily inhaler but they chose to use the FEV-1/FVC % post inhaler to assign 0%

What about exposures to Jet Fuels, diesel fuels and other lubricants. Was stationed in the Caribbean as a Machinery Technician and one of my major duties were fuel transfer for our ships and choppers, I even have it on record were i fell asleep during these fuel transfer one time. Would there be a clear strategy to link Sinsunitus or sleep apnea to this? I got out before 9/11 and never got the chance to be in the Desert so i think pact act doesn’t apply to me.

Pact Act Question:
While in service spent much time breathing and skin exposure to zinc (chromate Cr6 Hexavalent chromium-6) Lead Paints. Solvents like MEK Etc without any PPE😡
Since this was in the 1980s veterans like me are not covered by the pact act even though my daily occupational exposure could been even greater.
I know have Asthma and Sleep Apnea.
I don't think the VA will test me for chemicals in my body because the pact act questions will make me ineligible?
Is there any way to get the va hospital to test me for heavy metals?

Pulmonary stated in a note that I have mild asthma and they have me on daily bronchodilator/cortical steroid treatment but it isn’t listed on my diagnosis list with a code. Do you think my claim will be denied due to this?

I've had exposures to the chemicals at the super cleanup fund st Ft Ord Cali. TCE and PFAS In the 80's I've had major breathing issues since then. Do I fall under the pactact for this? I was diagnosed with the chronic breathing issues and the 80s just after I. Left Ft Ord

I have 2 tours in burn pit locations, I claimed asthma but was denied without receiving a C&P. Denied because I did not provide a diagnosis. Do I need to go get a private Dr to do the tests and diagnose me then appeal?

I received 10% for asthma, thought it would be at least 30% . Documented visits to TMC and burn pit exposures in while deployed overseas. Civilian doctor has diagnosed me with asthma and I'm on albuterol/advair for symptoms. Would a higher level review help?

I don't think VA is doing a good job at all on the asthma claims. I am currently using 3 inhalers as well as other meds to suppress my asthma. During my c&p exam I failed the exhale test 4 times, I was then given a steroid nebulizer which gave me a terrible case of the uncontrollable shakes. It still took me 3 times to get a C exhale rating. Only to have VA give me a 30% rating. I guess I need to be on oxygen and using a wheel chair to get a better rating. Such a pity we put our lives on the line for such a shitty percentage calculation scale that only benefits VA. NOT to mention when I go to VA in Lexington, Ky and I have severe bronchitis or pneumonia several times a year, they hand me a bottle of Robitussin and stare at me like I'm stupid.

Just got denied for exercise induced asthma pact act claim, as I claimed as not knowing that was not the way to go about it, my pulmonologist diagnosis me as having asthma with daily use with an inhaler. My Spirometry is normal even though I have all the symptoms of asthma. Is this something I should appeal or just file a new claim? Was hoping for zero percent and I also I qualify based on location requirements of pact act areas affected by burn pits.

All my fellow Machinists and Welders you have been exposed to Toxins and heavy Metals through coolants and welding fumes, grinding metals and breathing all of this in as you worked. I just found this out myself.

I was just diagnosed with Asthma from private Pulmonologist. The FEV1 test was at 54%. Can I file a claim even though I have been out of service for 30 years? I spent 2 tours in the Navy in Desert Storm/Persian Gulf. 1990-1993. We spent months in the Persian Gulf, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea, etc... Is this still presumptive or did you have to file before 2021? I'm confused.
