When “Jiu Jitsu isn’t real, just stand up” doesn’t work out like you expect #shorts #bjj takedowns

A lot of people say that Jiu Jitsu is fake, it isn't real. You can just stand up at any time. That may be true, if you are a tough and wiry opponent you might be able to escape scramble and stand up. But you might also get slammed back down with. takedowns every time you do.

This is just a fun little video from a super tough opponent from a recent tournament in the final match of the absolute class. This guy just wouldn't quit. It was a great match, I did win by points but he had way too much disruption for me to be able to finish a submission at my level at the time.

This is a blue belt intermediate match. My white belt beginner matches felt a lot like this too.. At this level someone with wrestling experience has a pretty good advantage and will continue to do moves like this an escape. I'm just glad my takedown game has improved enough to be able to do more than just standup the whole time, or standup until the wrestler gets the takedown, which is worse.
