Toronto terror plot: Conservatives demand inquiry into how alleged ISIS operative entered Canada

Conservative House Leader Andrew Scheer on Monday called on the NDP and Bloq Quebecois to support their recall of the public safety committee from summer vacation to investigate how a Toronto man charged in a recent terror plot gained entry into Canada.

Last week, the federal government declined to explain how Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, 62, was able to immigrate to Canada despite allegedly having taken part in ISIS violence overseas.

The RCMP arrested Eldidi and his son Mostafa, 26, at a hotel north of Toronto as they were allegedly about to commit a terrorist attack for ISIS. Police seized a machete and axe at the scene.

"Lives are at stake when national security systems don't do their job," Scheer said.

Thank you Conservatives! Canada has a population of 40 Million and 10 Million are Immigrants (25% of the population). Canadians deserve to know what safeguards are in place and people need to be held accountable when these safeguards fail. Somebody signed the terrorist's application. 5% of Canada's population are "Indigenous/Native". 10% of Canada's population are from India. 25% of Canada's population are NOT CANADIAN. Canada's population grew by 1.2 Million in 2023. 2% of the population growth was from births/deaths and 98% of the population growth was from Immigration. We have people not from Canada committing crimes and abuse of laws and system due to relaxed and free handouts by government instead of work and show you can be a good human and Canadian then you get things. Canada rewards criminals and the bad and punished the good and hard working taxpayers in last decade under one party and its shady history without repercussions. You can't get into the usa if you smoke pot or if youve had any sort of charges especially if violent.
Canada has let far to many to quickly into Canada. Our housing shortages prove it as houses are out of financial reach for most Canadians.
I wish we had a way to help fund disabled Canadians to relocate to a rural area.

How about the massive explosion of Canadian citizens living in tent cities! While the immigrants are in paid for Hotels, this is very unjust! I don’t care if new people come to Canada but I want the Canadian citizens to be able to afford to live in the country they were born in not on the streets, this diminishes the worlds view of Canada, I live in a tourist destination and I hear the tourist speak very negatively about this issue.
