VINESH CAS APPEAL EXPLAINED: Vinesh Phogat has appealed to the Court of Arbitration (CAS) over her disqualification from the gold medal match in the 50kg, Vinesh has requested a joint silver medal and CAS has asked till Thursday morning to reply to the appeal.

She most likely will not get any medals. CAS is quite stringent with rules. Have followed several cases for tennis players there. It was a clear breach of rules so I don't see any hope here. Gutted for her. She fought like a champion and deserves the world.

How can they give medal to a disqualified person? Here is a medal for your performance till you were disqualified? Makes no sense. They gave the chance to a person who maintained weight as per rules on both days. Such a begging silver is not needed. Vinesh fought well but had a bit of bad luck.
