My mom has a hoya carnosa that's at least 35 years old and it only flowered for the first time after 20 years! She never even thought of it as a flowering plant until one day, way back in the 90's, it surprised us all. I've had a cutting from that plant for about 5 years now and it just started growing its first little peduncles this past week, I'm SO EXCITED!!!

My mom has one that used to belong to my grandma. It still pushes flowers and new growth. It lives on top of her refrigerator 💚 Nice and warm there. East-facing window but lots of shade from trees just outside. I swear, it is the happiest plant. Loves that pasta making humid kitchen.

Hi Nick, I just got my Hoya Krimson Queen, she has not been in my home for more than a couple of weeks and I just love this plant, she completes the Krimson Princess and now the Queen collection. I also have a Carnosa that is over 25 years old that my mother gave me a two leaf start that I just recently propagated 4 stems from the mother plant that were so long I cut it back and now both the mother plant and the new plant which I rooted up and then potted in soil are giving me so many new leaves. This Hoya never bloomed until after my mother passed away and then it bloomed a lot. I look forward to some of my Hoya someday blooming for me. Thanks so much Nick for this video I really love all of the tips for care and watering of Hoya. Take care and stay safe and healthy, XOXO, bye for now.

I got a Hoya for free when I helped move a friend out. And I can honestly say, out of all the plants (13) I have right now, my ZZ and my Hoya are the ones I keep going back to looking at. Lol

Thanks for this video. I'm about to pick up my first hoya this evening and want to make sure it's something I can keep alive.

Thank to You I just discovered my hoya carnosa has a mealybug plague. I would never think that anything would happen to it, it is so unbreakable.

Hi Nick! I love all your videos! I think it would be lovely if you could add propagation methods and your experience with those to your plant care videos.
I recently took a few cuttings of my hoya and am rooting it in water right now. After taking the cutting though I was thinking maybe it would've been better to just pin the strands down in the soil. Just a suggestion!

This was my first hoya. It hangs in an East window and is very happy there. It's growing very well but the leaves are a lot smaller than on your plant. I've only had it since the early fall, so we'll see what happens. I read somewhere online that hoyas love orchid fertilizer oh, so I bought some of the spray and I spray it on them about every other week. I will say that they have shown a lot more growth since I started doing this!

Love this plant! I barely watered it in winter...maybe every 4-6 weeks even though it was hanging in a south facing window (but November - mid February is almost exclusively cloudy where I live). I think I’m a little too scared of overwatering plants. Of course it didn’t grow at all, but since I’ve started watering weekly it’s starting to take off.

I've had my Krimson Queen for two months now and I named her Franny. She's doing great in my east facing window and giving me lots of new growth :) Could you do a video on Hindu Rope hoya care? I'm having trouble getting any growth from her.

I love your videos. Good knowledge and tips. I potted a princess and queen together. Love the look in same pot.

So true. This plant is a real favourite. I've bought so many just because they're so lovely.
