I remember when I first heard this song. I bought the Cigarettes and Alcohol Single because I was collecting everything Oasis put out. I was a huge fan. Then, I realized there was some "B" side called "Listen Up". Well, I lit up a blunt, took two drags, and turned this on. It was 1996, around 7:30pm just sitting in my truck watching a sunset in San Clemente CA at the beach.
Yes I remember it it that well. Because it blew my fucking mind. It still sounds as fresh as the first day I first heard it. I listen to a shit-load of music, but Oasis will always hold a special place in my heart and in my memory. Live Forever

Noel has an ability to strike a chord with every feeling ive ever felt as a working class lad getting through the week dreaming of being a rock star. Hes summed up how it feels to be in love, how it feels to be disenchanted with life. how it feels when your hammered and feeling on top of the world and how it feels when your not sure where you are. Oasis are exactly that. an oasis to the everyday man.

When I was a teenager, life started to really go downhill. Crappy home-life, everyone who I thought was my friend pretty much turned their backs against me, and treated me like utter crap... It was an emotional battle. I thought of suicide.... Until I heard this song. It was like Noel and Liam came to me personally and told me.
"Look, life sucks... It's supposed to have trials, but it doesn't help to just be a miserable prick. You've got to grow some balls and face your trials head-on."

I'm still Little by little I'll have my break-through. If it weren't for this song.... I don't know where I'll be.
