B-side to Roll With It - Rockin' Chair by Oasis from The Masterplan album (1998). Great tune!

LYRICS:
I'm older than I wish to be
This town holds no more for me
All my life I try to find another way
I don't care for your attitude
You bring me down I think you're rude
All my life I try to make a better day

It's hard enough being alone
Sitting here by the phone
Waiting for my memories to come and play

It's hard enough sitting there
Rockin' in your rockin' chair
It's all too much for me to take when you're not there

It's hard enough being alone
Sitting here by the phone
Waiting for my memories to come and play

It's hard enough sitting there
Rockin' in your rockin' chair
It's all too much for me to take when you're not there

I'm older than I wish to be
This town holds no more for me
All my life I try to find another way
I don't care for your attitude
You bring me down I think you're rude
All my life I try to make a better day

It's hard enough being alone
Sitting here by the phone
Waiting for my memories to come and play

It's hard enough sitting there
Rockin' in your rockin' chair
It's all too much for me to take when you're not there

The most underrated song of all time, Im not exaggerating.

It's sad that Noel has written B-sides that are far better than any song on the airwaves today. Truly a genius he is.

This is still one of the most underrated songs ever. It has such a positive and happy vibe, like most Oasis songs, and it’s really helped me in the past

Sometimes on a late night drive all by myself I will crank this song and be moved to tears. Both from joy, thinking about how perfect this is, and from sadness as I reflect on the words and on my own life.

I was just becoming a teenager when this song was released, living in the shittest of towns, going to the shittest of schools. This was my favourite song from the very first moment I heard it play at my friend's house and remains so to this day. It's amazing how just a song can say "I know how you feel" and just knowing that someone else does can get you through. Thank you for the music Mr Gallagher, this song in particular!

Call me crazy but I consider The Masterplan their finest album. Sure, the big hits are on Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe but this album has so many insanely underrated songs on it that it takes the first place for me.

Some of Liam's best recorded vocals in my opinion. Absolutely nailed it.

Give the thirty seconds from 2:36 to 3:06 to random bands before, contemporary and post Oasis and they would have build fucking history on them.
Oasis put those seconds in a B-side.

What makes this song so fuckin good..

-The lyrics are easy to relate to, there's a simplicity there, a song you feel you could have just maybe written yourself, songwriting at its best.

-Liams vocals and delivery are perfection, considering they're not hes lyrics, he completely understands the assignment. I can only imagine the amount of times Noel gave Liam the Lyrics to a new song, Liam layed the vocals down and in noels head he thought that was fucking perfect.

-The guitar solo comes in after the first verse/chorus completely disregarding what we expect (a bonus is that its acoustic)

-Even though the song is acoustic its not striped back, the drums make a solid statement throughout which in my opinion makes what is essentially an emotional song more upbeat

-The intro comes in rolling with momentum which makes me feel i have to jump on to this already moving train.

I could go on, any additions are more than welcome

To think this was the b-side to “roll with it”. Utter insanity! We were really spoilt as kids- back in the day. Can you imagine bands having b sides this good nowadays? What a beautiful, sublime emotional song.

This song is resonating with me a lot today. I moved back to my hometown and there’s absolutely nothing here for me anymore, all my friends have moved away. I have good memories in this town but it’s a shell of what it used to be and going around this town is just depressing and I know what Noel was thinking when he wrote this.
