Professor Hecat's dialogue is really funny considering they don't bat an eye if you wear any other outfit in the game.
Like, showing up wearing exploration gear, treasure-hunting gear, dark arts / poacher gear? That's totally fine, but pajamas, that's where Hogwarts draws the line.

No joke. I stayed in a boarding school and showed up to class in my pyjamas once. I didn't even realize it until the first class was over. Thank God they let me wear the tracksuit I had in my locker the whole day.

In this case, "pyjamas" is just a euphemism, it's actually underwear. If you wear the actual pyjamas (or transmog), that's just normal clothes.
