Stylus Cleaning Tutorial | Audio-Technica Record Care Product

This video gives instructions on how to clean your stylus with Audio-Technica's record care products so you can prolong the life of your styli.

The AT617a cartridge stylus cleaner is a specially formulated polyurethane gel that gently removes dirt particles from the stylus tip when the stylus is lowered onto it. The gel’s surface is washable and will remain tacky for years.

The AT607a liquid stylus cleaner removes dirt and dust from the stylus tip for improved performance and extended stylus life. The bottle contains 0.33 fl. oz (10 ml) of quick-drying cleaning fluid, and the applicator brush is conveniently attached to the underside of the cap.

I've been using the AT607a liquid stylus cleaner for some time. I'm glad I watched this video to become a bit more familiar with best practices for using it to clean the stylus.

Dear Audio-Technica: I'm starting using AT617a with AT-VM95ML/H, but I'm a bit worried because some youtubers are saying that gel-type cleaners are mucking up styli and causing big problems, at least with Onzow Zerodus. What about AT617a? Thanks so much.

I bought the AT607A and the side of the box shows a bunch of cancer warnings and organ damage? Its just ethanol alcohol right?

Hi AT, what risks are there of the AR607a fluid wicking up the cantilever and destroying the rubber suspension? As far as i understand it, alcohol and ethanol can cause rubber to perish.

Also, can the fluid be used with moving coil cartridges and other brands of cartridge?

I'll just go with what Peter Ledermann recommends, he made my Cartridge after all...Drop the tonearm twice on a gob of Blu-Tack.

Hi, I brushed my ssylus side ways before checking how they should be brushed and now it sounds competly wrong, is there any fix to this?

0:56 do NOT! use the finger lift If you smoke 50 a day, like this guy. He's Shaking worse that a Motorola victim. Any movement left or right while In the gel, and goodbye Stylus. Use the Arm lift only.

With the first pass of the AT607a brush he painted the entire underside of the cartridge lol. Don't do that! You only need to clean the stylus tip which is so small you can hardly see it.
