☞ About Kiasmos

Kiasmos was started in 2009 by Icelandic BAFTA-winning composer Ólafur Arnalds, known for his unique blend of minimal piano and string compositions with electronic sounds, and Janus Rasmussen from the Faroe Islands, known as the mastermind of the electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup. After a critically acclaimed self-titled debut in 2014, which re-envisioned minimal techno with orchestral flourishes and weightless production, their long-awaited second opus “II” released on July 5.

The Citadelle de Sisteron is 800 years of history and architecture: a 14th-century fortification overlooking the French city of Sisteron, caught between the majestic Alps, the emerald Durance river, and the balmy region of Provence.

This set was heaven sent today. Seeing the ongoing footage of Jasper, Alberta, Canada from the past week has been heartbreaking; I, like many Canadians and travelers from around the world, have tremendous memories of hiking, exploring, and camping in the Jasper area throughout my life. I have family from Jasper, I have a relative buried in Jasper, and it's a place I've always felt at home. I am emotionally drained, and can only imagine how residents feel after being evacuated on an hour's notice and then watching their town burn later in the week. Thank you, Kiasmos and Cercle, for this beam of positivity, light, and incredible music.
