Join George and John as they discuss and debate different Philosophical ideas. Today they will be looking into the Augustinian Theodicy.
St Augustine developed a Theodicy in an attempt to prove that the existence of evil is not proof that God does not exist, and in fact should not shake anyone's faith in God. The Problem of Evil is often used as a way to argue against the existence of God. If God is all powerful, all knowing and all loving, why is there evil?
George will explain the Augustinian Theodicy and he will debate this with John to see if it is a sufficient argument in solving the problem of evil.

This is an extract from our Problem of Evil video.

Theses 2 of the XXIII theses disprove this supposed contradiction:
Theses II: God created man upright, that is, with a good will, in which, however, to persevere, he did not need assistance to become willing, but without which he could not remain, if he willed.

This is cringe philosophy. Channel never fails to straw man theism by failing to comprehend philosophical or theological principals and definitions. To better understand any arguments against theism one should readily study Scholasticism and Thomistic theology unbiasedly and understand their ideas and terminology. Ed Feser is a good starting point.

This is a lie - because Isaiah 45:7 says plainly that the LORD (YHWH) 'creates' evil. I have been trying to explain this - using only scriptures and without any Calculus (thanks but no thanks Leibniz) for the past 4 years now. This 'problem' is NOT a problem and I have solved it. If you would like to 'challenge me' on my claims - then please do... we have a 'world to be saved'... AND 'quickly'. Thanks.
