Govt prefers that we are all poor and collecting pension credit or other benefits so that they are in control of us. Controlling how much money we receive and what we can do with it.

None of these are remotely close to being loopholes. ISAs were created for the purpose of encouraging saving, and to claim them a loophole (sounds like Labour speak)is utterly dishonest. Loophole is a term applied to make something sound like an underhanded accounting trick.

Many self employed use ISA's instead of pensions as the cash is available if needed. They'd kill the whole ISA market with 100k limit.

CGT on inherited property would only be fair if indexation against inflation were to apply again, otherwise part of the tax on the gain is really just against relative value. In addition gains should be offset against improvement costs.

I’m just going to tell my kids to rent, spend their salary, not save, and when they retire they can become a burden to the govt
Considering by then they’ll have paid over 50 years worth of taxes I think that’ll be their entitlement.
Why on earth nowadays would anyone want to be self sufficient ?
And if anyone says pride then I think that needs to go out the window !!

I'm a self-employed joiner, and I've been saving in my ISA with the hopes of retiring before I'd be allowed money out of a pension (because I'd be a decrepid mess like all tradesmen that work until the retirement age)..

The government just want to keep us working till we drop. I'm sick of them picking on lower and middle class while ignoring the super wealthy..
