When I bought mine at the Asian market, it was frozen solid. We just put it in the ground and it grew. So it can handle very cold temperatures.

Lemongrass also makes a great chop and drop. Once the leaves die back I cut them away a few inches from the base and spread them in the garden as needed. Cheers!

Thank you for the video. My wife and I love Thai and Vietnamese food so growing lemongrass was a no-brainer for us. The added benefit of mosquito repellant helped a lot. Keep it trim, if it seeds out you're going to have lemongrass popping up everywhere!! One other lesson learned - anytime my dog has an upset stomach she wants to go outside...right to the lemongrass. Tummy ache goes away in a couple hours. Enjoy!

I've never been into drinking tea. It was all about drinking beers for me. Once I married my Russian wife I switched from beer to tea. Talk about change. My favorite is chamomile and mint tea. I have to try the lemongrass. Thanks for the great video

I have one and I need to divide. I bought mine when you mention in one of your earlier videos that you got your shoots from an Asian store. I went out and got one from my supermarket and it only cost me $2. In the plant store, they're going for $9-15.00. Good saving. I love making tea from them.

Hi Dan and Alice, I live in SW Florida and have about 5 lemongrass plants growing around my home. I make lemongrass and moringa ice sweet tea in the summer. In the winter time I make lemongrass tea. Have a great evening.

I came across your video…I just wanted to share that we grow lemon grass in our front yard, in California. It is easy to grow and looks good as well. We cook Vietnamese “Bún Bò Huế” almost every other week and lemon grass is one of the key ingredients. Totally agree that it makes to whole house smell really good and it gives a very relaxing sensation. Thank you Dan and Alice for the video!

Regrettably it doesn't perennialize in my zone but I keep my potted plant going in a greenhouse over the winter. I use for green curry paste and thai soups. I am totally jealous of those huge plants you have because I love lemon grass tea.
