See how Spragg's Meat Shop raise and package pork from their 200 acre Alberta farm. They raise their hogs in a open pasture setting with no medication. Because the animals are pasture raised Spragg's say the meat is much more red which appeals to both individuals and restaurant to buy from them regularly. At the time of our visit they were processing around 1,000 hogs per year.

Great Job Folks!
As far as free ranging pigs, my grand father mentioned that when he was a small child (Russia, pre;1905) Pigs were rotated through small fenced fields that were seeded with root crops potatoes, turnips etc. This pasturing methodology had may benefits and should be considered, especially if your expanding your capacity.
Again it's great to see small town folks doing big town things!

Happy hogs equals tasty pork! Those hogs have a great life and just one bad day! I hope those folks have continued success!

I agree on free range growing our pigs had kinda free range a portion of the citrus orchard was wired off for them at night they slept under a lean to we gave them some feed there every night and mornings water was readily available all day I think its the way to raise them myself I'm an outdoor person can't imagine an animal in a 10x 10 cage allday even our chickens were free range too

Wow great job you guys! You should also be receiving premium carbon credits because pastoring hogs helps GHG, phosphorus, air pollution. I know! I live under 200 meters from a hog Factory! I see your pigs and am just in tears with total ❤️ 💕
Wish you were my

How do they catch the pigs to butcher them?

this is the way it should be done. focus on the health of the animal and the quality of the meat. not the factory raising we have in the US.
