If the government delayed interest deduction reintroduction. This money could have been used to buy 5, 000 houses listed by Barfoots in Auckland. It would mean inside a month 5, 000 people out emergency houses. The government would own them just for 5 years. Housing nz would build 5k to 10k house over that time. Rent and capital gain would fund the construction.
