This WNBA draft is equivalent to what the 96 NBA draft was. A lot of star power and big names were in that draft.

I find it funny how they say the WNBA is a brighter stage than college when in reality it’s the exact opposite.

Clark and Reese have the personality and charisma to impact the WNBA the same way Larry Bird and Magic did. Yes they are all incredible on the court, but Clark and Reese walk into the league with a ready made fanbase and marketability. The thing the WNBA has failed miserably at is marketing the personalities of the players. Clark and Reese is their opportunity to show they can market this league.
Better marketing = larger casual fanbase = more ticket sales/viewership = more ad revenue which leads to bigger contracts for the women.

these ladies kinda sound like they are lowering the bar for Caitlin Clark. It seems to me like they don't want to add any pressure to her but so many female rookies have averaged way more numbers than what they wouldn't be surprised of averaging, 12-17 pts.

There is Caitlan Clark, and then there is everyone else.

It’s funny how WNBA players are acting like their league had this much attention before 😂 CC is bigger than any WNBA player right now

People really didn’t start talking much about women’s college basketball until last year when Reese did the ring on her finger gesture to Clark. The WNBA will need some level of controversies amongst the players to really make people care to watch.

I’m glad to see Shannon completely comfortable on First Take now, Shannon mimicking Caitlin putting that 3 ball on Diana was great!

Of course SAS find a flaw on Angel Reese, but are you going to tell me since you didn't mentioned it Caitlin Clark has no flaw. SAS for you

If everything breaks right, this draft can possibly change the W forever. After the star power that is CC and Angel, theres like 3-4 other players that would likely be the first pick in other drafts. Brinks, Cardosa, Jackson and Edwards are all absolute difference makers.

I started watching Clark, and ended up a fan of many teams and players. Even went to a play-off game in my town, first ever college basketball game, men’s or women’s, I’ve attended. I look forward to seeing WNBA games while also cheering on the college players I’ve grown to love.

More than anything it's the media coverage that's different. I understand the Clark phenomena but there's always been great players. When I think back to the inaugural season the league didn't get this type of press, of course there was no social media which adds fuel to the fire.

Love that entire discussion!! Those are some intelligent people on the panel. They are on point about everything. Now I'm anticipating the draft and upcoming season even more.

The white panel basketball in the WNBA is more difficult to visually follow than the traditional orange ball. Give it the eye test. Watch a WNBA game highlight or two on youtube and then watch an Iowa women's game highlight and you'll see clearly the orange ball is easier to follow. It is one of the easiest changes the WNBA could make to improve their broadcast product.
