Lord Debling was honest with Penelope. He said he wanted a practical match, a woman who could manage his estate while he was away. He admitted he would be away from home alot because of his job and interests. He wanted an independent woman who didn't mind being alone. He also admitted that he wasn't interested in a love match. He pretty much made Penelope admitt her true feelings for Colin.

I loooove this little detail that we see Violet in the back watching Colin, that he has to courage to tell Penelope what he feels after he asked Violet about if friendship is important for love. This show is sooo good OMG 😭🥰🥰

You can tell she is wishing, hoping, & praying he will say what she wants to hear right b4 Debling comes over & while he waits there. But alas Colin is too scared to speak & freezes just like she did at the air balloon. Then you can see the final resignation on her face right before she steps away to dance, realizing that even if he did believe he had feelings - he would always be too afraid to act on them.

I do not understand why the actress is criticized for her body in the series. I see her as one of the most beautiful women, and her role in the series is a role of utmost perfection and creativity. I love the character of Penelope very much.❤❤❤❤

My favorite part of this whole sequence is Violet instantly realizing who Colin wants to be with. She knows her children SO well. And the fact that you can tell she will support him is even better

at 0:31 you can hear his heart beat, and if you look at his mouth closely it looks like he wanted to say “i love you” but nothing came out. literally his worst nightmare, he’s fearful rejection!!

i dont know if anyone has noticed, but Violet was looking at Pen and Colin when Colin approached Pen cause he was about to say something, until Lord Debling interrupted Polin cause it's time for their dance, and how she felt sad for Colin cause Mama Bridgerton figured out her dear son, Colin has feelings for Pen 🤭
