The chickens that live in my backyard who literally just chill and scavenge through leaves don't know how lucky they are.
UPDATE:
Their coop has recently burned down after a heat lamp caught fire. Luckily all 4 chickens have survived unscathed!

my aunt worked in a place like this for a few years.
any chick that fell off the rail, she'd scoop up and put in her jacket and take it home. after 4 years, she had about 61 chooks. Her little front yard had become a little eden place for this chooks, they wouldn't have lived as long as normal chooks but lived a normal life.

I remember someone said they used to work a chick farm like the one in the beginning, and they get paid really well because it takes a toll on your mental health after awhile. You have to be strong to handle all those baby chicks without getting emotionally attached, you have to handle them like objects and not like live animals. She almost broke down one time, because one chick tried to huddle in her hand for warmth and tried to sleep in her palm after being exhausted from getting tossed in cold machines all day. :(

I have lived all my life in a town where almost everyone has a mini farm where 10-20 chickens can live, they live like in paradise, people feed them regularly, they have a place where they can walk, eat grass, drink water etc, so I never understood vegans, but after watching this nightmare on the video... I fully support their fight against such factories

This is depressing how animals are so harshly treated, and they treat like like they are not living innocent creatures.
For Example: When the baby chicks were crushed because they were left stick in the bin with the shells, and the worker crushed the poor chick and found him dead but showed no interest in the cruelty that this chick had to die from.

Edit 2: I have checked out everyones comments and I think that I should quickly say something. It’s one thing to end an animals life when you use it for food, but when an animals life is ended for no reason at all that’s where the difference is made. I’m not expecting them to have a funeral or even really have much sorrow, but to at least show that they care about the chicks life and if they don’t well I’m sorry but that’s cruel.

I live in Toronto, where we can only own a small number of chickens. I fully support people being able to raise their own chickens so we don’t have to support this industry. I want the animals to be raised and live in a happy place till it’s time for me to feed my family.

The most traumatizing part of this has got to be how some chicks got through the system and ended up between the egg shells and you see those shells get crushed Manually... No further attempts at checking if anything is still alive in there.

Really wonder how these workers live with themselves. I'm not a hardcore vegan or anything but damn I wouldn't sleep at night if I were them
Edit: I know people need to feed their families. Some people don't have other opportunities. I'm not talking about the necessity to make a living, I'm talking about the raw mental side effects of doing this job. It's undeniably disturbing.

i’m not very emotional and i’m pretty numb to the horrors of factory farming but i was not ready for how they treated those chicks, i can’t remember the last time i got emotional about something like this buts gods i nearly teared up there
