While doing away with approved permits (AP) to import food will see consumers benefiting from lower prices and increased choices, more concrete measures are needed to reduce the country’s dependence on food imports, says an economist.

What is tertibly wrong with certain ministries in Makaysia...?!?

Malaysia is a fairly large green country surrounded by an abundance of sea food...!

We have more than sufficient rain fall throughout the year and 3 months of warm dry weather which is congenial during the harvesting seasons...!

On top of that we have a modest population of only 32 million...!

Foreign labourers work force have indicated that there exist plenty of rich food throughout the year at reasonable prices...!
Nearly all of them put on a lot of weight .., after only 3 months on appearing on our Malaysian shores...!

Malaysia has been repeatedly referred to as a "FOOD HAVEN" in a variety of magazines since the 1990's...!

The problem with Malaysia is that we have the proclivity or the ubsurd propensity to throughly mismanage our natural food resources WHEN we have a-plenty...., than when we have a lot

Look at how we have mismanaged our God given rain...!
A few weeks of hot dry spell and the masses have to content with water cuts...!
WHERE DID ALL THE BLESSED GOD GIVEN WATER GO TO WHEN IT DID RAIN ..??? 🤔I

A LOT OF OUR BAD CHARACTERISTICS .., LIKE THE "TIDAK APA" ATTITUTE WAS CULTIVATED DURING THE 22 YEAR REIGN OF MALAYSIA'S 4th PRIME MINISTER ie Tun Dr. Mahathir....!

We have to follow China's example... ie Food Preference & Priority for its people before exporting the rest for the taste pleasure of other nation..!

WE ..,
MALAYSIA need to form a joint Special Royal Committee /Commission with the Council of Rulers to manage all our resources for today, tomorrow & the very near future...!!

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US, HAVE THE MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR FAMILY. ; OUR PLANET... ; OUR NATION AND OUR GOD TO STOP BEING WASTEFUL OF OUR GOD BLESSED RESOURCES

SEKIAN., TERIMA KASIH...! 🙏 ❤️

Approved Permits are like Approved Approvals.

We are allowing more "foreign" players into our market while at the same time removing the impetus for our country to be self sufficient in food production at a certain critical degree. Sure, short term is good and prices will go down. This is a good solution without doing much work at all. Like closing your eyes and ears and stop thinking for the future.

What if a crisis emerge like previous covid, international financial crisis or trade disruption? What would Malaysian do if the import trickle down due to supply network problem or loss of purchasing power? What should we eat? Makan pasir? Masak kayu dengan batu?

Remember...the more money flows out from our country, the lower our purchasing power to bring material in. Sure, our export increases...but how much "profit" do we make when we sell it at cheaper value in relation to our currency? How much purchasing power of our currency will increase with the exports? Either way the export will balance out with our currency value...more when it's low and less when it's high.

How much material we export is irrelevant. What matter is the value we trade to affect our purchasing power. If $1 can buy 10 unit Malaysian products...do we make more profits if we sell 100 unit for the same sale price of $1? Aren't we all stupid to think that increase of export volume alone is the signal of wealth? Is it no different that our export is just daylight robbery?

Harga barangan bulan depan tetap naik melambung. RAKYAT TETAP TOLONG RAKYAT SENDIRI dan RAKYAT TERPAKSA KEMPISKAN PERUT DENGAN TALI PINGGANG BULAN HADAPAN!

I have an idea of how to curb inflation and enhance food security in Malaysia and the ASEAN region...!

ASEAN countries should have a fixed price for certain of its commodities, in particular essential & necessities....!

Then we do a "barter system"...!

In other words each country provides 1st for the needs of its people... ; then ASEAN comes next...!

From the agreed fixed prices.. Malaysia can provide Vietnam with cooking Oil for its sugar...!

As far as possible, paper money should be out of the question and only used at rhe very end to balance-up the books...!

Singapore has not much to offer in this food Barter system... ; so thry have to buy from their Western counterparts and exchange them for the other ASEAN countries commodity/food at the agreeed price set by the ASEAN members...!

Singapore has to dish out more paper monry to buy from its Western counterparts in order to join the "ASEAN so called BARTER " system ..!

What say you..??? 🤔

NOTE :-
FOOD SECURITY WILL BECOME MORE PERILIOUS & IMMINENT GIVEN THE CHANGE IN CLIMATE THAT THE WORLD IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING...!

Unless we have a working system now that does away with the need for paper money.. ; we will find ourselves in a dire situation that will deteriote very quickly....!!

Let's try out this system and fine tune it along the way...! 🙏 ❤️
