“Submission is simply living in consideration of the other”? How does that work if the example is how the church submits to the headship of Christ? Does the church simply “live in consideration” of Christ? The word “submit” literally means to come under rank.

The church need less of this over-nuancing approach (explaining away the clear text for a secular culture that doesn’t like it) and more theology without apology.
