How a squatter has any rights is beyond me.

This was only half justice, which means justice was not served. This woman was never arrested and charged for ANY crime, even though she committed several, including breaking and entering. She will just look for her next target now, without even being punished.

Years ago a small family set up camp on my aunt and uncle's property. It's a large farm, you can't walk it in a reasonable amount of time. There were no signs or fences indicating that part of the property was private. My aunt came across them one day, asked them what they were doing, and the family started packing up the moment they were told it's private land. They apologized and were respectful. It was their good attitude that convinced my aunt to let them stay until they were able to get back on their feet a few days later. Unfortunately, most squatters don't have any regard for laws of the space of rightful land owners.

Lock these thieving criminals UP! They are breaking into these homes! They shouldn’t be protected! Change the laws NOW!

I love she's playing the "I'm moving from California for a better life" card while also wearing the "evil eye" pendant. Like sis you are the reason people are fleeing California😂

People need to put cameras inside their homes so if someone come in you can have proof that someone broke in your house because it will show they broke in!

they have a criminal history, just going to go find another vacant house to squat.

Glad she got her property back, these squatters have absolutely no shame in taking over what doesn’t belong to them and unfortunately are protected by law more then actual property owners. I get that some people have no home but to downright take what doesn’t belong to you is next level unjustified behavior. Happens here all over California. Without the media coverage I’m sure they’d still be there.

She’s extremely lucky that they didn’t ruin the inside of her house she was very very lucky 🍀

Wait why give them time or face charges? The second they found out the lease was fake they should have had trespassing charges placed on them instantly. You want to end this, that's how you do it. That how you close these holes and give honest people a chance.

It’s not poverty it’s the culture. Some people are just allergic to hard-work.

How does a squatter have the right to be given the option to leave by Monday or be charged with trespassing? They should be arrested immediately and charged with trespassing. That's like telling a murderer, you have until Monday to turn yourself in and face a lesser punishment, otherwise we will come and get you on Tuesday and you will face a more severe punishment.

Happened to me in Florida back in 2009. Had my relative go visit an empty property and she sent me photos of a truck in the driveway and someone living there. How they got in with no key I'll never know; probably broke in, faked a lease and had a locksmith change it I guess.

We need to change squatter rights in this country. This is a huge problem.

This is crazy how so many squatters are able to pretend a property is theirs and cause the owner thousands to get them out of a place they shouldn’t have been in to begin with!! I’m so glad this lady was able to get her property back and there should be a way police can assist more in situations like this instead of a landlord going to court.

How some people still don't have cameras in and outside their house still baffles me. They are cheap, clear, record everything and if someone gets into your house it alerts you so you can immediately call police about a break in. Take note of this home owners.

How come people never “know what’s going on” when they know they’re breaking the law? 😂

Hopefully Squateisha learned her lesson. She and her family should be ashamed of themselves.
