*WATCH IN HD*
If your 150cc gy6 or other small-engine vacuum fuel pump operated engine won't start, check the fuel pump with these steps to ensure the carb is receiving fuel.

Quick video explaining how vacuum regulated fuel pumps work, and how to diagnose if yours is having an issue. This one was on a gy6 150cc scooter. Other Scooters that have gas tanks above the carb use gravity to feed fuel, if the gas tank is below the carb then it will have to use a pump in order to pull fuel from the tank into the carb. If this is bad, your scooter, lawn-mower, or other small-engine will not start due to fuel starvation.

Quick, easy, simple steps to follow to figure out whether your vacuum fuel pump is working properly. Small Engine Repair, DIY.

My scooter won't start up in the morning, I get a clicking noise like it wants to start but then nothing. So, then I'll kick start it and it fires right up. It's only like that for the first initial start. After I kick started it I can shut it off, and then turn it back on using the electric start button all day. Now, the battery is good, new spark plug, ignition coil, CDI box, fresh oil, full tank of gas. It's a 50cc Chinese scooter (Jonway-NEO). I've had it for 2 summers (14 months), and I've put 53, 00+ miles on it so far. Do you have any idea what it could be that's wrong? Can you please help me with this problem, I'd really appreciate it! Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

What if I suck on the manifold tube to force fuel in and it still wont start? Manifold is not creating pressure. Blown engine?
