Claveciniste de 19 ans, je reste bouche bée devant cette interprétation, magnifique ce clavecin à pédalier et un son rare. J'apprécie beaucoup

I'm an organist and I think this piece works better for Harpsichord, it seems clearer. A great performance.

Two things amazing :
1. Bach composed this for organ and still it sounds like a tailor-made masterpiece for harpsichord.
2. Luc Beausejur finds every harpsichord-like aspects from this music and does justice to them.

4 years since my last comment and I love this version of the Bach. I would imagine that back in the day, J.S.Bach could well have played his music on harpsichord as it would have been somewhat difficult to always a) have a pipe organ that was accessible and 2) getting someone to pump the bellows. This is a beautiful performance of the work which I can listen to again and again.

First and only instrument that does true justice to the Organ. Another example of how magnificent the Harpsichord's power is!

I was told that pedal harpsichords were not designed for performance, but only practice; however this one sounds like a very good instrument.

This is honestly an incredible, refreshing take on the toccata and fugue, and since it's on a harpsichord with pedals (I didn't even know there is such a thing)it's much clearer than an organ and therefore this take is also revealing. I really don't know why this doesn't have more views.

If I can't have someone play this at my funeral, then I refuse to die...

Came for the harpsichord.Stayed for the skill.

To play an organ keyboard with feet is awe-inspiring, as it is to watch any harpsichordist play with (just!) their hands; to play plucked strings in the same way is surely an act of hubris! Wonderfully exciting to hear and watch this masterful musician defy the odds in such a magnificent performance!

I love the way the bass notes on the harpsichord "growl." There is so much more character and beauty of timbre on a harpsichord than a "piano."

That was astonishing virtuosity. He really brought Bach alive. And then one thinks of Bach: incredible genius.

This by far the best non pipe organ version of this piece, it sounds fantastic even without an enourmous organ.

impressive. Mr Beausejour's phrasing is wonderful, a mature musician conveying Bach's language as he understands it. Adding the precision of the pluck to this work is shocking and wonderful. I will come back to this performance many times.

More and more I am beginning to love the mysterious sound of the pedal harpsichord. Hearing the beautiful low, deep, notes from the lower registers bring so much life into the music. Brilliant performance.
