what stuns me, is the complexity and beauty of the piece... in popular culture, its known as a piece for scary movies, but it was written as a church piece. An offering to God.

Most people I know have never heard this masterpiece played to end, it’s their loss! Bach was a genius no doubt about that.

Ich durfte dieses Stück mal in der Matini Kirche in Braunschweig erleben. Wir, mein Altgeselle und meine Wenigkeit hatten dort als Maler einen Wasserschaden an der Wand auszubessern. 😮 Also alles auf dass Gerüst was dort innen an der Wand stand und hoch auf 6 Meter Höhe. Da schon die Akustik im Kirchenschiff ❤❤ 😮 und dann diese voluminöse Musik❤❤❤❤😊 ich war so überwältigt dass vor (Glück?) geweint habe.😢 manchmal geht es mir heute noch so.

Cette piece me rappelle un de mes plus beaux souvenir de petite fille de huit ans environ, quand mon oncle m a demandé de m assoir pres de lui dans une magnifique basilique ou il donnait un concert, je sens les vibrations qui ont envahi tout mon corps et mon âme, maintenant je suis âgée et ce moment m emporte encore dans un magnifique espace de bien-être et de grâce ❤

I would only learn how to play the organ so I could play this on a really old one with exaggerated expressions with my hands when people come to my house and if they walk into the room I'm playing it in I would just say "Ahh I've been expecting you"
