In this example, we are given an electron between charged plates with known electric field. We compute the force on the electron between parallel plates due to the field using F=qE, then we compute the acceleration of the electron using Newton's second Law. Next, we explore the kinematics of the electron: we compute the time for the electron in known electric field to travel 1cm starting from rest. Finally, we compute the final speed of the electron between parallel plates in two different ways in order to practice the kinematics formulas from first semester physics.
