As a season diver that helps dive instructors, while you're waiting to assist the dive instructor with his class don't fall asleep on the bottom of the pool.

Whilst taking a winter training dive class I once jumped in wearing full gear only to discover I had not closed my drysuit zipper.

Yeah, turns out drysuits make pretty poor wetsuits!

"Don't touch anything"
- My dive instructor, who then on my second open water dive plucks this giant sea cucumber off the bottom and hands it to me, then shows me which end is its mouth and which end is its butt

Damn he was a good teacher. I kept losing control of my ascents at the end of my dives so we spent a dive (I had to do 6 because I did drysuit together with my open water) doing stepped ascents until I could get it down.

I can remember that on my very first dive, I tried to equalise my ears as we ascended 😂🤙🏻

Going for a nice winterdive. Water 3 degrees C. Takes aan hour to get on location.

Only to discover you left your drysuit at home.

I am a newbie. I have done everything in this video except drowning. Once I tried to descent without deflating bcd. 😜😜😂😂😜 God have mercy on me.

Using the "ok" sign later that day, in that mediterranean pub, thus telling that bear-like guy in front of you he's an asshole

1. Don't put on your wetsuit backwards. 2. Don't dive when you are not focus 3. Make sure your bcd straps are on and tightened properly. 4. Don't dive when you are tired.

When I was doing my SSI Divemaster Open Water Exam, I forgot to change from my snorkel to my second stage. Needless to say, I didn't pass that

Yeah I am a fairly new diver. In my training I always got pounded for using the surface signal as the ok signal

This happened to a "friend". Not removing your cell phone from your pocket before jumping into the "pool". Yes, they did it twice (two years apart). Made nice $800 paper weights.

I’m still a rookie diver and learning quickly by my own mistakes..

One thing I did last week, that I wasn’t aware of, was to deflate my bcd gradually around 10 m. I didn’t deflate till I was ascending quickly from 7m to 3 in about twenty seconds flat, I didn’t know to use the dump valve along my waist where most the air was trapped!
Quite a rookie move but I’m learning all of the time.

Surfacing, handing my kit (and therefore my flotation) to the guy on the dinghy, but not realizing until I'd hauled myself into the dinghy that I still had my weight belt on. Realll, really glad I didn't let go of the rope.

Forgetting to turn my air on before the dive... it was my 5th dive haha

One time I showed up for a day of shore diving and then realized that forgot my computer. Thankfully it wasn't a weekend boat trip, and also fortunate that a buddy had a spare that I could borrow. It's about an hour and a half drive home from the beach. Though I may have been able to just rent one at a local dive shop (there are plenty in So Cal).

Forgetting to unhook your tank from the rack on the boat before putting on your BCD. I was on a night dive and reminded the guy next to me before each dive, but he forget to unhook his tank both times anyway.
Our rule is the first person to use thumbs up instead of OK buys the beer after the dive, win either way.

I've grown plenty of corals in my 400 hundred gallon tank, it does not take hundreds of thousands of years. The great barrier reef is only about 8000 years old.
