The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell Ambience & Music

Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of Rivendell, the last homely house east of the sea. This is a remaster of the 3 hour version I made last year. For this 6 hour version, I did some work on the original photo to increase its quality. I upgraded the waterfalls, as well as the smoke coming from the chimney. I used a real video of the moon and blended it into the scene to make the moonlight as realistic as possible. Be sure to select the 4K option for the best experience.

I've been reading and watching LOTR with my dad since I could remember. He even played the music when I couldn't sleep. When i found this video i almost cried. It gives me memories when I was a child again. My dad and i still watches the movies every year during the week of my birthday. It became a tradition.

J R R Tolkien and my father are my heros even if Tolkien isn't alive today. They both inspired me to write and one day ill be a writer, but never as good as Tolkien. And I also thank dad for keeping my imagination filled with elves, magic, and adventures!

Lord of the Rings was a gigantic part of my childhood. I played the video games I got board games, books and the movies! My god I watched the movies every day as a kid. I remember tearing up my living room and spreading the couch cushions around, trying to recreate the movies in real time with my pretend play. My long dead grandpa Vic got my an Uruk-hai crossbow for my birthday one year, its one of the few things I can remember about him. Hearing this music reminds me of my family. Not just my Dad or my brother but everyone. Everyone watched these movies together. We all sat around in the dark taking in the fantastical world of Tolkiens mind. I haven't seen the movies in a long time, but I'm trying hard to get my family all together so we can watch them again. It won't be everybody, but it'll be enough to make me happy. Thank you for helping me remember ❤

Even the most cynical detractors of the movies have to admit, if nothing else the trilogy gave us some of the most tranquil, mysterious, dramatic, sad, uplifting and magically epic film music of all time. I consider myself at least more than just a casual Tolkien fan having read most of the published works multiple times long before the movies were made, and despite some questionable smaller adaptation choices and deviations needed to make the story work as a modern film adaptation targeted at a wide modern audience demographic, I truly feel the films respected the source material and are in spirit a faithful adaptation of the books. It saddens me that this is something that is unlikely to happen in the present socio-political climate.

As a young teen (before any of the movies or music was made) I imagined having a home like Rivendell.
A house of comfort, food, healing, strength and protection.
While I don't have a home as big as Rivendell, I still have the things I wanted.
Of course, it's a Christ-centered home. And while nothing's 💯% perfect, nonetheless, the atmosphere is similar to what you've created with this video.
