It was always crazy to hear my mom and her friends talk about hitchhiking everywhere when they were teenagers. It was the 60's and no big deal then. She had a friend who was coming back to Atlanta from doing a tour in Vietnam. He got off the bus. Then he called his mom and told her that he wanted to see America before he came home. He wound up hitchhiking to California where he worked on a tomato farm for a year and half before hitchhiking back home. My mom and her best friend used to hitchhike to Florida for Spring Break or go to Nashville for concerts.

That would have been creepy and strange if he had asked them if they wanted the teeth

I suppose when they tell people about stranger danger it could be a bit like when they tell people about smoking. It's dune to them if they take the risks at the end of the day
