Division Bell Tour 1994 ( the final Pink Floyd tour )

The concerts featured even more impressive special effects than the previous tour, including two custom designed airships.[Three stages leapfrogged around North America and Europe, each 180 feet (55 m) long and featuring a 130-foot (40 m) arch resembling the Hollywood Bowl venue. All in all, the tour required 700 tons of steel carried by 53 articulated trucks, a crew of 161 people and an initial investment of US$4 million plus US$25 million of running costs just to stage. This tour played to 5.5 million people in 68 cities; each concert gathered an average 45,000 audience. At the end of the year, the Division Bell Tour was announced as the biggest tour ever, with worldwide gross of over £150 million (about US$250 million). In the U.S. alone, it grossed US$103.5 million from 59 concerts.

Man, that mid-verse really strikes the guilt nerve.

"And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you,
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun!"

Truly genius lyrics!

Man, was so awesome seing this band live on this tour.I will never forget that day. The music is already out of this world, but the stage lighting etc. just takes it to another level, it's like a weird dream but that feels so so good.

Winter 1975 my dad got an unexpected bonus at work. He took my mother and me, I was in 8th grade, out to spend some of it. We didn't know where we were going and it was snowing hard here in CT. Dad was a bit of an audiophile back then and we found ourselves in a high end stereo store where my father listened to various LP's on turntables, cranked up, ear to speaker. This was not my dad, not at all. He wasn't listening to Country, he was listening to some song that had cash register sounds in it. He was mesmerized, hooked, it was Harman/Kardon all around. Mom and I were bored out of our minds. Mom liked Roberta Flack and James Taylor. I was oblivious to music but hated country.
Dad's setup was the envy of everyone at school and everybody for blocks around the neighborhood. And that first album he bought called "Dark Side of the Moon" played a few times a night for a month until I saw a new album by PF called "Wish You Were Here" on sale and good son that I was, I bought it for him. He hated it. He liked the cash register and that was it. But man, was Wish You Were Here cool! And I was hooked. Dad went on to listen to The Doors (from country to PF to The Doors). Mom went on to Jethro Tull, Blondie, and really anything especially singer/songwriter stuff.

The 70's were a great time to just be alive and for music.
