I love how the music is nice and calm relaxing yet there's a fire and no after picture

I love the peaceful music as we light things on fire

Tips:
- Place a metal plate (heat reflector) between the fence and stump to prevent damage to the fence.
- Get rid of sticks and leaves around the stump for safety
- Replace kerosine with a slower burning oil
- Use a longer drill bit

I got a 16 inch spade bit and I drill 5 holes from the top and 5 from the side and it worked a lot better. It only took 5 hours 😅 but the whole thing was gone.

I have tried about every example on YouTube… the I finally figured out… let the stump dry out for a year… drill a 1-1/2” hole 10” I to the stump… light 30-45 mi ute road flare and drop it in the hole. It will burn the stump and the roots will slowly burn for 2-3 days sometime I leave you with a nice tripping hazard

This doesn’t work very well. What works better is to dig out around the stump a little then drill a few holes close together in the middle, as deep as possible then as far down as you can get on the side, drill in from the side to connect the holes and turn the stump into a rocket stove. The more you burn the larger the center chimney gets, and you can add fuel to it to keep a hot fire burning in the middle. Heat is your friend, as you must dry out the wood that is being fed moisture from the roots underground. You want to clean the ash out and drill farther down whenever possible, hopefully you will eventually drill into dirt under the roots. Eventually everything above ground will burn and you can then backfill the hole. It still takes a lot of time… Need to put up a sheetmetal heat shield to protect that fence:O Want instant gratification, hire a stump grinder…

Use chain saw and drill to make the stump into a Sweedish Candle.
I suggest watering the surrounding area too.

Just thinking about how sometimes wildfires travel underground for many miles between the intertwining roots of trees.

Add mushroom compost and add some mycorrhizae powder and water that tree stump and it will compost.

I have drilled with a drill and bored stumps with a chain saw. I must say easier and quicker to go in a crisscross pattern with a chainsaw.

Knew an old bloke who'd stuff the holes with a past of sulfur and Kerosene. cover it for at least a month wetting it with more kero then light it it smouldered away for days but the stump and roots were totally gone.

I tried this out while I was out in California. Gotta say, awful idea to do in the Forrest.

To do it properly you need beer, hotdogs, marshmallows and sticks.

There are multiple YT videas that show that this doesn't work. He doesn't even have air flow, so it'll burn out the kerosene and then... nothing.
It CAN be made to work (apparently), but certainly not this way. And my suspiscion is that to make it work you need a MUCH slower burning fuel.
I've got a few stumps to burn out completely, but that was simply by building a large bonfire on top of the stump and just leaving it, but you have to damp all the way around outside the burning area.
