I'm struggling so hard with linear algebra because my brain has been trained for so long to seek a mechanical, linear understanding with actual numbers...and now I'm nearly 40 back in school trying to finally get my CS degree, and having trouble with the theoretical and feeling quite dumb some days.

Quick question, when you’re dealing with a specific problem for linear algebra, and the question is phrased as follows: “prove or give a counter example....” what is the best plan of action associated with this? Is it easier to try to find a counter example first, or attempt to prove the assertion?

One of the problems with the term "linear" is its ambiguity in some cases. For example, in high school math we call a line, "y=mx+b" linear, when in actuality it is an "affine" transform. (I.e. a linear plus a constant)

To make matters worse, what about "line integrals"? Shouldn't they be called "contour integrals"? 😒

At 5:50, what does F in "c in F" mean? Doesn't c need to be in R^3?
