It is rare for a person to accurately describe the beliefs and practices of a religious group other than his own. I have had enough family member, friends and neighbors who are members of some of these groups and I have attended the meetings and asked questions of the members of enough other groups that I can say with some confidence that you have generally avoided the temptation to misrepresent groups to which you do not belong. Thank you for that.

As a Southern Baptist who comes from hundreds of years of Southern Baptists, this guide was a very helpful quick outline that helps me to understand a little bit more about my fellow believers of other denominations! Thanks a bundle, IAYTD!

Not bad for a brief overview! As a Presbyterian minister I would have liked to see more of the diversity of the Presbyterian and Reformed traditions, but a good introduction to most branches, indeed.

The central thing that is always overlooked in explorations of Christianity is that most people are the denomination they are simply based on what church dominated the country that the majority of their ancestors came from. Only people who take the time to ask themselves "hey...does this denomination REALLY teach what I believe ?" are ones who might switch from what was handed down to them. Either that or they may switch because they married someone from a different denomination, and they just agree to do so to keep the peace with their spouse. Roughly and generally speaking, if the majority of your ancestors came from Ireland (except for Northern Ireland), Italy, Poland, France, Belgium, southern Germany or Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Czechoslovakia or if you are Hispanic, you will almost always be Roman Catholic and never question it. If they came from Greece, the Ukraine, Russia or Serbia, you will be Eastern Orthodox. If they came from northern or central Germany or the Scandinavian countries, you will be Lutheran. If they came from England or Wales, you will be Episcopalian or Methodist, or perhaps Baptist if you live in the southern states in the US, or you are living in the state of Utah, you will most likely be a Mormon. If they came from Africa and you are Black, you will probably be Baptist, Pentecostal or Methodist. If they came from Scotland or the Netherlands or are Scotch-Irish from Northern Ireland, you will be Presbyterian or Reformed. And so on and so forth. And in almost every case, you will never question if the given denomination teaches what you truly believe.

Thankyou I went to an unitarian church today- I was brought up roman catholic, my Irish mother is now Baptist, my dad Methodist, my nan was Pentecostal, my uncle Quaker. I am looking to find my way back to god, in whatever way that means to me now.

I took catholic classes because I thought, if I should begin searching for a church, why not go with the most oldest and ancient?? I learned an incredible amount of wisdom and knowledge from these classes about church history. My exposure to The Father's has given me insight into the legacy and witness all of us receive that has been passed down even to this day.... I just was not sold on the teachings of Mary, the pope, indulgences, and sacramentalism.... I may not agree, but who am I to say God isn't working through those churches???

So I tripped over your Mormon video, and couldn't decide whether you were speaking for or against Mormonism. I decided to check out the video regarding my own religion (this one) to see.

You are right down the middle. Neither pro or con, just stating facts. I am HIGHLY impressed. You've earned a subscriber.

Born/raised Protestant and i find it odd that JWs would be considered under this umbrella. I would feel okayish walking into any of the other denominational churches but I would not a JW Kingdom Hall.

All that matters at the end of the day is that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and follow his teachings.
